The playgroup was established to address a need in the local community.
“The initiative has come about where we saw a gap in the services, so Anglicare has partnered with Echuca Twin Rivers to provide a place for children and parents to meet and make new connections,” Echuca Twin Rivers Primary School’s Anthea Mathers said.
“The playgroup is run once a fortnight from 9am to about 10.30am where parents can come along and where the community to bring their children for a lovely play date.
“It’s also a wonderful opportunity for parents, grandparents and carers to come along and make new connections.
“This program is new and we are just testing the waters to see who might be interested. So far the turnout has been great with lots of people who have shown interest in joining us.”
Anglicare Early Help practitioner Kristy Beaumont said the organisation was proud to be involved in this initiative.
“We decided to run a free local playgroup and Echuca Twin Rivers Primary School had a safe environment for this to occur,” she said.
