Two men ran from police after a chase in Mooroopna that saw the tyres blown out on their allegedly stolen ute.

Police said officers attempted to intercept the Isuzu ute on Riverview Dve in Kialla shortly before 12.30pm on Sunday, however the driver fled.

Stop sticks were successfully deployed on McLennan St in Mooroopna, puncturing one tyre.

The vehicle was dumped on Park St, where two occupants allegedly ran from the scene, police said.

Police quickly responded and located both men, taking them into custody without issue.

Campaspe Crime Investigation Unit detectives will also interview one of the men in relation to a series of burglaries and property crime in Victoria’s north.
