The bench was revarnished and a raised garden bed was installed.
Students from prep to year two are responsible for maintaining the area.
The bench was introduced three years ago to create an inclusive space in the primary playground.
It was created in memory of Kiara, a beautiful soul who was the "best buddy".
Kyabram P-12 wellbeing and engagement leader Karli Myers said it provided a safe place in the school where a student could go when they felt they had no-one to play with.
“When you're a child and building on your peer relationships, finding someone to play with can sometimes be challenging,” she said.
“If a student cannot find their friends or wishes to make new friends, they can sit on the buddy bench.
“The buddy bench has guidelines for use, which the students understand — to think, sit, look and then with a positive outcome of play.
“The buddy bench sends a message to all students to be inclusive, as well as following the college values of ‘respect, resilience and community'.”
Mrs Myers said the primary students were taught every year in the first school semester about how to support the use of the bench.
