On Tuesday, April 1, Federal Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell pledged the funding at the Lockington Business Centre.
Mr Birrell said the funding would address the need for local accommodation.
“Lockington Community Care is a great success story and an example of what small communities can achieve,” Mr Birrell said.
“What has been achieved to date is remarkable for such a small community, but there is a waiting list for accommodation, so more needs to be done.”
Federal Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell was in Lockington to make the announcement.

The Waterwheel Court housing started off with only two units in 1991 and has since grown to 16 units.
Operating as a registered charity and run by a team of volunteers, Lockington Community Care Committee Inc manages housing solutions for the community's retired residents.
The units provide accommodation for retired locals who enjoy a social atmosphere and interactions with other residents.
This commitment is part of the Coalition’s plan to strengthen local communities.
Members of the Lockington community gathered at the Lockington Business Centre to hear Federal Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell’s announcement.
