The annual three-day ride, which took place between February 23 - 25, travelled around the peaks of Victoria, raising over $100,000 for Echuca Regional Health and Rochester & Elmore District Health Service.
Rider Callum Phillips said he was ecstatic with how the weekend turned out, given the amount of participants.
“It was a magnificent ride with 47 other bikers from far and wide, including South Australia and Tasmania, with some Shepparton locals in there,” he said.
“Throughout the journey, we went across the peaks of the Victorian Alps, starting in Bright and going through Dartmouth Dam, Mt. Beauty, Falls Creek and Porepunkah.”
There’s a lot of preparatory work and planning in the lead-up to the event, which is once a year and has been running since 2017. Everyone who signs up for the event must own their own Postie bike which meets legal guidelines and are required to do fundraising work before the ride takes place.
“Everyone pays an entry fee of $1800 that covers their food and accommodation,” Mr Phillips said.
“All riders are also expected to raise an additional two thousand dollars.”
The money raised from the event will be used to buy much-needed equipment for the Rochester & Elmore District Health Service and funding programs run by Echuca Regional Health.
“The Rochester hospital got hit pretty hard with the recent floods, and they are in dire need of a new community transport vehicle, so we will be supporting the purchase of a new Toyota HiAce commuter van,” Mr Phillips said.
“From my understanding, the money we raised for Echuca Regional Health will go towards the men’s mental health and well-being program.”
