The ladies gathered at the Caledonian Motel dressed in their Christmas outfits for their final meeting of the year.
The club took the chance to bestow club member Sue Hawkins with the title of Baroness of Birthdays for baking birthday cupcakes for club members.
They also thanked the staff at The Cal and gave a small gift of appreciation for hosting their meetings and accommodating their needs.
Murray Border Belles queen Jan Childs said the group has grown since its inception earlier this year.
“We started in June when I called a meeting for ladies in Echuca Moama who would be interested in starting a Red Hatters group and at that meeting seven women elected to become members,” she said
“That number has now grown after only six months of operation, we now have 14 women in the group.”
It has been a busy few months for the Murray Border Belles with fortnightly catch-ups and their first ever Halloween event in October.
The club members hope to start taking on official roles and planning more elaborate events in the new year now that they have a solid group of members.
They will hold their first planning meeting next year, where ladies can give suggestions about what they would like to do or places they’d like to go throughout the year.
Any ladies interested in joining the club are also welcome to attend the planning meeting.
Mrs Childs said that the club are always looking for new members.
“We would love to have as many ladies from the Echuca Moama area that would like to come on board,” she said.
“It’s for ladies who are over 50 years old and it is just about having fun.”
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 15 at the Moama Bakery on Ogilvie Ave, Echuca.
