The toy run aims to spread some Christmas cheer to the children of Rochester as they continue to find their feet after the 2022 floods.
Those who wish to donate toys can drop them off to the following locations:
- IGA Rushworth
- Tongala pub
- Workmans Club Echuca
- Supercheap Auto
- Woolies Echuca
- Bunnings Echuca
- BCF Echuca
Donations can also be dropped off directly to the Rochester Salvation Army.
For health reasons, all toys that are donated should be brand new or else they cannot be accepted.
The club’s Chapter 14 president Colin Consiglio said the club have already exceeded their expectations of the toy run so far.
“We're already ahead of where we wanted to be for this year, and we just want to build on it year after year, and we think we can do that,” he said.
“This year is about building a strong foundation and just showing that we can put something together and then next year, we'll do better.”
The toy boxes will be collected on Saturday, November 30 following a community breakfast at the Star Hotel on High St.
The breakfast will kick off at 8am with a smoking ceremony performed by members of the Southern Warriors Motorcycle Club.
The hotel will also be offering coffee and bacon and egg rolls at a riders price.
Local blues singer Sarah Mackenzie-Ross will also be present on the day to play a few tunes.
At this stage, there is expected to be around 60 riders from different motorcycle clubs who will be supporting the event.
All community members are welcome to attend the breakfast.
