– David Pineo played the role of Prince Charming in the Rochester Young Talent Group production of Cinderella.
Peter Thompson and Shaun Hart were also in the production, which was produced by Florrie Bickley and Ellen Thompson.
Last year David had played Oliver in the musical of the same name.
– Helen Clarke was sworn in as president of the Rochester Shire. She took over from Alex Fraser, while Councillors Hanrahan, Hare and Rankin were returned to council.
1991
– Jill Dunbar was appointed director of nursing at Rochester War Memorial Hospital, returning to the town where she grew up.
She has a nursing staff of 50 full-time and part-time nurses.
Her daughter Neisha and sons Heath and Dale also moved to the area with their mother.
– Barry Cuttriss was the Rochester Golf Club champion after rounds of 77 and 75.
He had recently finished runner-up in the GV championship and won the Rochester title from Steve Baker, who had 78 and 77.
David Hynes won B grade and David Fuller C grade.
– Frank Dullard became shire president, taking over the role from Joan Doolan.
He entered council in 1978 and has had two stints as shire president.

– Eight of 17 acute hospital beds closed on Friday at Rochester and Elmore District Health Service after a breakdown in talks concerning statewide nursing-patient ratios.
REDHS director of nursing Judith Pellas said the surgery list would go ahead despite the action.

– Rochester SES received a new truck when member for Rodney Paul Weller handed over the $268,000 truck, replacing a 15-y-o vehicle.
SES Unit Controller Mal Ross said the 17 members had serviced 400 calls during the January floods and was the divisional emergency service command centre during the emergency.
Members taking possession included Glenn Major, Mark Hocking, David Latter, David Christie, Ken Major, Reg Ellis, Barry March and Lindsey Macague.
– Deegan Leslie Neilson is a son for Bec Hewitt and Andrew Neilson. He is a grandson for Allan and Karen Neilson of Rochester, born on August 4 weighing 4225 grams (9lb 5oz).
