On Friday, NSW Health confirmed Victorians can only enter NSW for work or education if you cannot work or study from home, for medical care, exercise or to obtain essential food and services - this does not include dining-in at a restaurant.
Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh provided an update on his Facebook page on Friday afternoon, saying Victorian residents were able to enter NSW to participate in organised outdoor sporting activities, and can purchase food at these events.
This does not cover Victorian spectators at the events and it does not allow for participating in social activity after the event.
If they are travelling to these events as an employee then they can do so “for the purposes of work”.
Echuca Moama Tourism chief executive Kathryn Mackenzie wrote to members on Friday saying Victorian border residents were required to follow the stay at home direction while in NSW, even if there is no stay at home requirement while in Victoria.
"This is a particularly difficult message with regulations which will impact heavily on businesses," she said.
"We know we must abide by the NSW & Victorian Health regulations to keep our community and businesses free of COVID-19."
