Around 150 to 200 people gathered at St Paul’s Cathedral in Bendigo in support of five ordination candidates.
Rev Samuel Kelly has served the Lockington and Rochester congregations since February and is now the minister in charge for both parishes.
He was born and bred in Echuca, where he attended the New Life Baptist Church for 16 years and served in many different volunteer roles during his time there.
In 2021, he started attending the Christ Church Anglican in Echuca where he was a student minister under Rev Phil Zamagias.
However, Holy Trinity in Rochester, and St Mary’s, Lockington are his first official placements as the minister of the church.
Prior to Rev Samuel, the priest in charge of the Parish of Rochester-Lockington was Rev Bertram Mather.
