Possum Green of GV Social Riders will lead a ride on December 25 for motorcyclists who find themselves alone.
“We understand the pressures and challenges many people face, particularly at this time of year for our local motorcycle cohort,” Ms Green said.
“We want to do something proactive about it, so we are offering a casual group ride on Christmas Day.
“Any bike, any skill level and no strings.”
Ms Green said motorcyclists did not have to be a member of the group to join the Christmas Day ride and that they could come for the whole ride, part of the ride or just pop down to the meeting place to introduce themselves.
The destination will be decided when the group meets on the day.
Ms Green advised riders to bring a packed lunch or they might be eating “servo pies”.
“Come fuelled up,” she said.
“We wish everyone a safe holiday season and encourage people to reach out to services should they need to — support is out there.
“2025 brings with it new opportunities. Let the adventures begin and please take care on the roads.”
The Christmas Day event goes from noon to 3.30pm, with a ride brief at 12.15pm ahead of a 12.30pm departure from Victoria Park Lake (across from the Parklake).
