Business has certainly been a juggling act over the last couple of years as TalkSmart Training experienced firsthand.
“As for most businesses the COVID-19 pandemic created many challenges and required my business to adapt and change to survive,” Ms Ferrier said.
“Traditional face-to-face delivery became exceedingly difficult.
“Limited numbers within sessions and eight-hour timeframes to complete a first-aid course exposed people to potential risk.
“People were unwilling to participate in large groups.
“As a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic the online option was created and this replaced standard group first-aid training.
“The online programs involve participants undertaking extensive online training and theory assessments prior to a short face-to-face assessment.”
Ms Ferrier said it was a new innovative way to deliver some of our most popular courses.
TalkSmart Training delivers training and assessment on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909 and started this new way of training in 2020.
Being forced to navigate through a global pandemic certainly challenged many business owners who had to muster the moxie to find a way through the chaos.
“Running a business at the best of times comes with its challenges, but the last couple of years really tested patience, finances, and sanity of many business owners across multiple industries,” Ms Ferrier said.
“One of my major achievements has been my ability to be involved in upskilling the community that may not have the opportunities to obtain first-aid training.
“An important skill that can mean a difference between life and death while waiting for emergency services to arrive.
“Communities play a huge part in creating a nation of life savers. A defibrillator in the community and training people in CPR indicates more people will know what to do when someone has a cardiac arrest. I regularly run training sessions to educate the community on how to use a defibrillator.”
