The school had a boys’ team and a girls’ team, and both teams played some terrific soccer.
The boys’ team was coached by Jordy Rasmussen and Lachie Joyce, winning every game and only giving up one goal.
Charlie Watson, Asher Rasmussen, Harry Rasmussen and Nate Toohill dominated in the midfield and repeatedly gave their team scoring opportunities. Mason Mundie, Corey Hoog, Taylor Murray and Judd Cuttriss scored plenty of goals up forward and Aden Potter, Louis Frawley and Luke Birthisel provided excellent support to Ollie Seamer, who was the goalkeeper.
The boys’ team won their way through to the final and played off in a tight game. They dominated possession and continually provided opportunities to score, but it wasn’t until the second half when Nate Toohill managed to find the back of the net and give the boys a well earned win.
The girls’ team also played some incredible soccer. They won three games, drew two games and narrowly lost the other two. Ella Treacy and Evie Coghill were strong and determined in the midfield and they were well supported by Jasmine Watson and Keeley Major.
Matilda Godden, Logan Sparkes, Maddi Walker and Aaliyah Pump looked dangerous in the forward half all day and scored plenty of goals. The defence was hard to get past all day, with Lilli Withey, Jordi Howe, Alantra Brown and Miley Griffiths teaming well.
The students showed fantastic support for each other for the whole day and showed great sportsmanship in all their games. Thanks to all of the parents that came along and supported, and to Jordy Rasmussen and Lachie Joyce for the effort they put in coaching the boys.
