Families and friends from Torrumbarry and nearby towns gathered to celebrate the festive season together.
The evening began with a classic Aussie barbecue, where neighbours and friends shared stories, food and drinks as the sun set over the river.
There were also prizes to be won with the Christmas hamper raffle and lucky door prizes.
While the children loved the face painting and a variety of entertainment, the magical tone of the night was set by the talented singer Amelia May.
The true highlight however was the arrival of Santa himself, who traded in his traditional sleigh for the Torrumbarry fire truck.
The excitement on the children’s faces was priceless as they rushed to greet him.
This wonderful event wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of the Campaspe Shire Council through a grant sponsorship that helped bring this festive celebration to life.
Thanks to the hard work of the Torrumbarry Community Club, the generosity of Goolwa River Retreat, and the backing of Camapspe Shire Council, the evening was an outstanding success.
The event was a celebration of community spirit, great memories and the magic of Christmas.
There will be more magical community gatherings like this in the future with the next big event, the Torrumbarry Fishing Classic, set to happen in April.
