A large amount of effort has gone into making the grocery shopping experience as enjoyable as it can be for customers at the rebranded IGA Echuca.
IGA Echuca owner Lance Mitchell said the store had been rebranded as part of IGA’s national strategy to differentiate itself.
“IGA had so many different brands and it was getting a little bit confusing for the customer, so they decided to clean it up a bit,” Mr Mitchell said.
“As time goes on, IGA are slowly rebranding all the stores around.”
Not only has IGA Echuca been rebranded, but it has also been undergoing a spruce-up, with a fair bit of money being invested into the store.
“As part of the process we have put new shelving throughout the store and we are getting new flooring put down in the next couple of weeks,” Mr Mitchell said.
“At the moment, we are having designs drawn up for new checkout counters.
“We are trying to bring the store up to the latest and greatest, of what the customers deserve and what they expect to see in a supermarket.
“We are trying to make the shopping experience as comfortable and as easy as possible for the customer.”
Everything IGA Echuca is doing is about ease of shopping for the customer, with new baskets, fruit and vegetable stands, bakery stands and improved refrigeration in the store.
Recently the paddle steamer was painted out the front of the shop, with plans afoot to add a second mural of traditional artwork, by a local First Nations artist.
Very soon automation will return to the front door and the front step will be fixed, at the Haverfield St address.
Mr Mitchell is always working on the range of products in the store and to keep prices affordable for customers.
“We run Price Match, which means that certain products throughout the store are price matched in line with the cheapest out of the two big supermarkets,” he said.
“That helps keep the prices down for the community and our regular shoppers.
“We have a Community Chest program, so when you buy community co-branded products from the store, part of the funds go back into the community.
“We are about to make a Community Chest donation to the Echuca Neighbourhood House to go towards the Foodbank and this is the second year we have done that.
“IGA Echuca is all about the community.”
IGA Echuca is open from 7.30am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and from 9am to 7pm on Sunday at 39-41 Haverfield St, Echuca.
