On Tuesday April 16 the duo will be in Cohuna where people of all ages can learn to skate from some of the best.
The All Aboard Skateboard Sessions are free, thanks to NDCH and the Victorian Government initiative, FreeZa.
Lessons will take place between 10:30am - 1pm each day for beginners and more advanced skateboarders. These lessons are available for both boys and girls and all equipment is provided.
headspace Swan Hill will be in attendance to promote positive mental health and wellbeing and Quamby Quoffee will be on site for all your food and drink needs,
After, there will be a best trick competition and NDCH will be giving away a custom made Penny skateboard, valued at $150 to the best social media photographer across the two days.
‘‘Skateboarding is a way young people in our communities can express themselves and exercise,’’ NDCH chief executive Mandy Hutchinson said.
‘‘This session is not only about teaching people new skills, but also about engaging people in community activities and promoting inclusion.’’
Skateboarding will be introduced as sport at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and with the recent opening of the Barham Skate Park upgrade, there has been a buzz about skateboarding in our area and around the world.
This event presents the perfect opportunity for people of all ages to give skateboarding a go.
