The session at the Recovery Hub will teach residents important information on snake safety and preparing for snakes on properties.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Rob Amos said the session was a timely reminder for residents who had recently experienced flooding and hot weather that tended to flush snakes into different areas.
“As we all know, snakes are more prominent when it’s hot, and we’ve had quite a few hot days recently,” Cr Amos said.
“The session is an important reminder on how to keep ourselves safe and protect our wildlife at the same time.
There will be two guest speakers, including Keith Fletcher from Rochester Veterinary Clinic and Glenn James from Snake Safe Victoria.
“Come and pick the brains of these two industry experts and find out how to best protect yourselves, your pets and your properties from snakes,” Cr Amos said.
The session is free and a sausage sizzle will be provided.
Registrations are required.
