TONGALA coach Jordan Souter has been rewarded for his club's footballing turnaround in 2019 by being named coach of the Murray League Team of the Year.

Souter, who coached the Blues to their first grand final since 1991 a year after his side won just five games, was also named on the half-forward flank.
He was one of three Tongala players picked in the side, with gun on-baller Cam Ilett named in the centre, as well as Coby McCarthy on the interchange.
Echuca United key forward Josh Mellington was rewarded for his 130-goal season by being named at full forward, while his teammate Farran Priest takes up position on the half-forward flank.
