Strong support for Zaidee’s Mad Cow Mud Run

For the past 13 years, apart from the two years missed due to COVID-19, a Zaidee’s Mad Cow Mud Run has been held in Greater Shepparton. This year was no different.

The run was held on Saturday at KidsTown and an adjacent property, in Mooroopna.

It was organised by Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation, which raises awareness of the need for increased organ and tissue donor registration in Australia.

Managing director Allan Turner said 650 people participated, and the event attracted 2000 spectators from all over the state.

“We had people from all over Victoria, from Geelong, Melbourne, Cobram, Albury-Wodonga,” he said.

“It’s a state-wide event.”

In addition to having fun, every participant received a medal for completing the run.

Mr Turner said the event was enjoyed by all.

“It’s one of those events where people start nice and clean, end up dirty and leave with a smile on their face,” he said.

Mr Turner thanked those who helped with the event and said he appreciated all the support from the community.

“We’d also really like to thank our volunteers from around Shepperton from SEDA College, [Goulburn Valley] Grammar and Greater Shepparton Secondary College,” he said.

Mr Turner hopes to host another Mad Cow Mud Run combined with a colour run later in the year.
