The business was founded in 2011 by director and Kyabram local Dale Coldwell, and has since expanded its services across the Goulburn Valley, Bendigo and metropolitan Melbourne.
Mr Coldwell was pleasantly surprised by the team’s win, keeping his fingers crossed after being named as a finalist.
“I was hoping, but not preparing,” he said.
“I wrote a quick speech on the way here — and I’m glad I did.”
As its name suggests, Empire Signs Group is made up of experts in all things signs, including building, illuminated, retail, vehicle and architectural signage, pylons, billboards and way-finding.
The team also provides graphic design, project management, sales and pre-press services, working on projects such as Melbourne Central Tower and Forever Fresh Echuca.
Mr Coldwell credited the group effort involved to achieve the honour.
“It’s always the team, it’s always my wife, we’re a good team ourselves,” he said.
“It’s crazy, I’m very happy with it.
“It’s good to win something for them.”
