More than 80 guests attended at the Murray Border Flying Club in Tocumwal and enjoyed a sumptuous homemade High Tea courtesy of Optimists' Club members.
Guest speaker Kathy Mexted, a local pilot, author and photographer, captured the attention of the audience with an inspirational video of unbelievable airborne stunts performed by incredibly daring women.
Kathy spoke about her research into these amazing women who are featured in her latest release book - Take Flight.
Bev Lawton of Jerilderie was the lucky winner of first prize in the raffle, a magnificent hamper of Rich Glen products, kindly donated by Deslee Young.
Second prize, a plant and pot donated by Marg Dixon, was won by Jennie Hehir from Tocumwal.
The Tocumwal Optimists wish to thank the Murray Border Flying Club for the use of its facility, Rob Hendy for setting up and acting as butler, Murray Hut CWA for the cake stands and Kathy Mexted for her entertaining presentation.
The Tocumwal Optimists appreciate greatly all who supported their High Tea.
Funds raised will be distributed primarily among local community organisations and other worthy causes.
