After weeks of preparation, the Aussies will open their campaign against the West Indies in South Africa on Saturday night.
The Windies are one of three opponents Murphy and his teammates will face in group B with England and minnows Nigeria waiting in the wings.
The top two teams from each pool of four will progress to the Super League quarter-finals, while the bottom sides will be pushed into plate finals.
Murphy has put his hand up for a starting spot at the tournament with a strong display in Australia's first warm-up game against Bangladesh on Monday, which was drawn.
The St Kilda player took 2-30 from nine overs, before scoring six runs from eight balls until he was run out.
Unfortunately, his dismissal happened as he tried scoring a single to win the game for the Aussies.
Australia will conclude their preparations with a final warm-up game against Canada on Wednesday night.
The Aussies will be looking to win their first tournament since 2010, a side which featured the likes of future senior internationals Josh Hazlewood and Mitch Marsh.
The tournament will be a historic one with Japan and Nigeria set to compete for the first time.
All of Australia's games are set to be broadcast on Fox Sports.
Coverage of the first game will start from 6.30 pm on Saturday.
