In the lead-up to his election, Mr Marwood said having spoken to several local residents and businesses he was getting a clearer understanding of what people wanted to see.
“I want to see what council’s immediate priorities are so we can put those in action,” he said.
“We don’t want to pigeonhole anything so that we get a backlog of projects. The sooner we are able to put projects into action the better it will be for the community.”
During his campaign, the Echuca ward councillor said he learnt people wanted to see several connection issues fixed.
That included town entrances, foot paths and bike tracks.
“There are a lot of different areas we are going to have to look at,” Mr Marwood said.
“But all of those are going to take time because we’re still under the previous council’s budget for the next six months.”
Mr Marwood says it was important Campaspe Shire Council did everything in its power to get the Port of Echuca right.
“People love to see the history when they visit our community,” he said.
“It’s a very important cog in our tourism wheel. There is so many different options available to visitors and we want to keep it that way.
“As a council our goal is to make things better across the shire.”
