With breakfast on offer, a plane flyover, the national anthem sung and Uncle Rick Ronan delivering a Welcome to Country, it was a special morning for everyone in attendance.
Mayor Rob Amos extended heartfelt congratulations to the winners of the awards, recognising their exceptional contributions to their communities.
“The Australia Day Awards are an important way to formally recognise the dedication and commitment of hard-working members in our municipality, nominated by members of their community.
“We are very fortunate to live in a region where so many people give generously of their time to community events and volunteer organisations which makes Campaspe a safer, more socially connected place to live.”
Echuca award winners were Don Hicks OAM for Citizen of the Year, Jordan Simpson for Young Citizen of the Year and the Loco Shed Echuca for Community Group of the year.
