That was Mathoura Public School’s aim when nine 2023 Kindergarten students participated in weekly orientation sessions over the last six weeks.

Utilising funding obtained via a transition grant, Mathoura Public School employed local occupational therapist Amy Whitten to deliver a range of sessions to work on social and emotional regulation, and fine and gross motor development.
Each 2023 Kindergarten student has been paired with a ‘buddy’ - a senior student, who will support them at the beginning of the school year - who have also participated in the sessions.
