Extreme heat timetables will be in effect on Monday, January 20 and Tuesday, January 21 for V/Line travellers.
A full extreme heat timetable will be in place for services on the Seymour and Shepparton lines, with a partial extreme heat timetable in place for services along the Bendigo, Echuca and Swan Hill lines.
Passengers are advised to plan ahead and check the V/Line website before travelling for the extreme heat timetables and any changes to their services, and please allow for extra travel time.
Extreme heat speed restrictions are enforced when temperatures at forecast to go over 36°C to reduce the likelihood of train and track faults, while also keeping passengers safe.
Journey times will be extended, as trains will travel at a reduced speed, or may be replaced by coaches for all or part of the journey.
Passengers are reminded to travel in cool clothing and make use of the drinking water available on board V/Line trains.
No V/Line train or coach will operate in a fire district while a catastrophic fire danger rating is in place for that district.
