Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Shortis said Special Operations Group police were used to arrest men at homes in Hawdon St, Shepparton, and Elsie Jones Dve in Mooroopna.
The arrests were part of an investigation into two separate incidents in the Toolamba area on May 6 where police allege victims were threatened by people carrying guns, Det Sen Sgt Shortis said.
One alleged incident occurred at a property, while the other was on a roadway.
One man sustained minor injuries to the face during the alleged incident on the roadway.
Police are still trying to establish the motives for the threats on both occasions, Det Sen Sgt Shortis said.
On Wednesday night, the SOG police entered the Hawdon St home about 5.30pm to arrest a man, while they entered the Elsie Jones Dve home about 7pm.
Shepparton detectives executed search warrants on both houses after the arrests were made.
Officers seized an allegedly stolen white Volkswagen Golf as part of the search warrant from the Hawdon St house.
A Ford Ranger utility and a quantity of cash were seized as part of the search warrant at the Elsie Jones Dve home.
Detectives arrested a 32-year-old Mooroopna man at the Elsie Jones Dve house.
He is facing nine charges, including being a prohibited person possessing a firearm, making threats to kill, reckless conduct endangering life, two counts of assault with a weapon, threats to inflict serious injury, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, theft of motor vehicle and possessing proceeds of crime.
A 25-year-old Shepparton man was arrested at the Hawdon St house.
He has been charged with being a prohibited person possessing a firearm, making threats to kill, reckless conduct endangering life, two counts of assault with a weapon, and threatening to inflict serious injury,
He has also been charged with theft of a vehicle, disqualified driving, possessing cocaine, possessing a prohibited weapon, handling stolen goods, dealing with property suspected to be the proceeds of crime, drug possession, and failing to comply with an order to access a data storage device.
Both men been remanded in custody to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in June.
