The two feature events are the 73rd running of the $35,000 Moama Bowling Club Pacing Cup and the $20,000 Arch Electrical Group Trotters Cup.
While only six pacers will face the starter in the pacing cup it should be an enthralling race with two stables having all the runners.
Emma Stewart has last weekend’s Charlton Cup winner Demon Delight coming from barrier three after the scratching of Bettor Robyn, Like A Wildfire from barrier five and Phoenix Prince, runner-up in the Charlton Cup, from inside the second row.
Julie Douglas lines up Sporty Mate, fourth in the Charlton Cup, from the pole, Khaki Nui from gate two and Major Roll from barrier four.
But the Stewart trio looks to be holding all the aces in the time-honoured event.
In contrast to the small but talented field in the pacers cup the Arch Electrical Group’s $20,000 Trotters Cup, the richest trotters race ever staged by the club, has drawn a capacity field, including the last-start Wangaratta Trotters Cup winner, the David Jack-trained and driven Moreton Bay who looks the one to beat again with his barrier two front-row draw.
The 10-event card kicks off at 6.33pm with the final event at 11pm and with fine weather forecast the club is expecting a good crowd.
The off-track action will be as hot as the on-track entertainment.
Bookie Graham Adams will operate at the meeting, there will be a punters’ club, live music, activities for the kids, a bar and cool refreshments.
Bistro-style dining and takeaway food will also ensure those hungry on the night will be well satisfied.
