Two injured in highway crash

One person was flown to a Melbourne hospital and another taken to a local hospital after a crash involving a truck and a ute on the Murray Valley Hwy on Thursday, July 4.

A ute, towing a trailer loaded with firewood, and a truck, both travelling south, collided at Leitchville at 2.45pm.

The man driving the ute was flown by helicopter to Royal Melbourne Hospital with upper body injuries, according to an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson.

A man believed to be in his 60s was transported by road ambulance to Bendigo Base Hospital with an upper body injury, the spokesperson said.

“The passenger of the ute walked away uninjured,” the spokesperson said.

Kerang police Sergeant Andrew Neil said investigations were still ongoing into the cause of the accident.
