The choir will sing in its distinctive four-part harmony style for audiences and bring its sense of fun, humour and spine-tingling voices along for the show.
The choir is renowned for the quality of singing and the relaxed, informal style, and good humour of its concerts.
Its diverse repertoire includes Welsh, Celtic and popular songs, opera choruses, Broadway melodies and Afro-American spirituals.
The choir has toured the UK more than five times, regularly receiving standing ovations — and is also a regular visitor to regional Victoria and interstate.
In 2012 the choir toured Wales and England and helped represent Australasia in a 520 voices pre-Olympics London Welsh Choir of the World concert at the Royal Festival Hall with Bryn Terfel.
The following year, the choir sang in New Zealand at a Festival of Male Choirs and received a standing ovation.
In May 2016, it again performed in Wales and England, including a performance in the ancient cathedral at Worcester.
Also on the bill for Sunday’s performance is a performer with great versatility: soprano Merlyn Quaife.
Ms Quaife has performed opera, oratorio, Lieder, chamber music and contemporary music to great acclaim throughout Australia, Europe and the United States for more than 40 years.
She has also performed as a soloist with the Singapore Symphony and the Voronesz Philharmonic of Russia, and has appeared with all state opera companies in roles ranging from the bel canto Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor) to the minimalist Chiang Ch’ing (Nixon in China).
Ms Quaife is also a foundation member of ‘Songmakers Australia’, a vocal ensemble which performs rarely heard art song repertoire and premieres new works composed for the ensemble.
Tickets for the concert are available from the Paramount’s box office at $40 for adults, $35 for seniors, $20 for students/children and $30 for groups. All proceeds from the event will go to the Echuca-Moama Uniting Church to assist in running its programs.
This event requires face masks to be worn.
