Jodie-Anne Barlow, Creative Kitchens’ weekly instructor and MKR alumnus herself, had one of the current food team members on the show reach out to her.
“The head of the food team is a friend of mine, and when she met Alice she rang me and said ‘you are going to love these guys,” Ms Barlow said.
“Jodie-Anne rang me, and we were on the phone for hours and hours,” Ms Bottomley said.
“She suggested coming up for a visit and then asked if I’d like to run a cooking class, and I said ‘why not’.”
Father-daughter duo Alice and Peter Bottomley represented Victoria on the show, but in reality, the duo run and work at the Run Rabbit Run cafe in Castlemaine.
Alice and Peter were helping participants prepare crumbed pork schnitzels and apple slaw, and a lemon delicious pudding — keen MKR fans will remember the dessert went very wrong during the duo’s instant kitchen on the show.
Vivid chief executive officer Scott Alexander said the learners were very fortunate to have Ms Barlow as a trainer.
"Jodie-Anne brings a lot of fun and colour into the kitchen, along with her expertise and delicious recipes,“ Mr Alexander said.
“What a thrill our apprentice chefs had, having Peter and Alice attend this week; it was a real highlight.
“As always Jodie-Anne’s energy and enthusiasm has delivered a fun learning experience.”
