St Anne’s College held its annual market day on June 6 where Year 9 students created a business and hosted a stall selling their products or services to the wider school community. The News journalist Bree Harding asked students how they came up with the ideas for their businesses.

“I saw TV ads with similar activities and thought it would be a good idea to bring it to market day.”
“It took a while to find something we thought everyone would want to buy to pay back the school, and then we thought ‘Who doesn’t like a churro?’, so we gave it a shot.”

“We had a couple of ideas, but wanted to do something with lollies and we all (the team of three) just collectively decided the tin cans would be good.”

“We went through a lot of ideas, about six, and we were two weeks late, but we thought people like to have fun, so we came up with this (arm wrestling).”
