According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the district has seen a total of 52.2mm of rain in July this year.
This rain has fallen over 17 days, with the most coming in the 24 hours until 9am on July 26, when 8.9mm fell.
The second highest rainy day came in the 24 hours until 9am on July 17, when 7.4mm was recorded.
The start of the month was relatively dry, with only 4.4mm falling in the first 13 days of the month.
Since then, there have only been four days when there was no rain.
According to historical figures that date back to 1859, Echuca has had both a wetter than average July this year and a lot more rainy days.
The historical average July rainfall is 40.8mm – with this year being 11.4mm above that at 52.2mm.
The historical average number of rainy days is also 11.5, far fewer than this year’s 17.
The wettest July on record in Echuca came in 1923, when there was 105.1mm recorded for the month.
The driest July saw a mere 1.8mm recorded in 1859.
Temperature wise, Echuca’s daytime temperatures in July this year were exactly the same as the historical average for July.
This year saw a July average temperature of 13.5 degrees Celsius, which is the same as the historical averages from records dating back to 1881.
This year Echuca residents were able to bathe in some warm winter sunshine on Saturday, when the hottest day of the month occurred – with the mercury topping 18.6 degrees.
Echuca’s coldest day of the month this year came on July 5, when the temperature only reached 8.8 degrees.
It was one of three days during the month where the temperature failed to reach double figures.
The hottest July day recorded in the town since 1957 was 24.2 degrees on Jul 28, 1975, while the coldest was a chilly 5.5 degrees on July 9, 1995.
This year’s night-time temperature of 4.3 degrees was slightly above the historical average of 3.8 degrees.
The coldest night was a chilly -1.6 degrees on July 8.
It was one of three times the temperature dipped below one degree.
The warmest night of the month was the 9.2 degrees on July 15.
It was one of only three nights where it was nine degrees or warmer.
The coldest night on record in the town since records started in 1957 was a freezing -5.5 degrees on July 21, 1982.
The warmest July night ever recorded was 12.2 degrees on July 30, 1975.
