On Saturday, February 10, a free dinner and presentation will be held at Tallygaroopna Recreation Reserve, featuring the renowned disaster recovery specialist as guest speaker.
With a background in clinical psychology, Dr Gordon will provide insights into recovery and help attendees find comfort in their shared experience of the October 2022 floods.
The presentation, facilitated by Greater Shepparton City Council’s Flood Recovery team, Resilience in Recovery, aims to identify key milestones that arise during recovery and provide guidance on how to care for oneself and others.
Council’s flood recovery manager Carla Dixon said she’s expecting a strong turnout.
“We are confident that those who have faced adversity in the aftermath of the floods will embrace this opportunity to attend this community event,” she said.
“We acknowledge the prolonged and difficult recovery journey many in our region are experiencing, and we are committed to providing affected community members with exceptional support and guidance, including enjoying a complimentary dinner surrounded by family, friends, and neighbours.”
