The letter-writing workshop will be hosted at Lockington Community Centre from 10.30am to 11.30am on Tuesday, May 14.
The event will celebrate the Connection Postcard initiative. Australia Post and Beyond Blue’s Connection Postcard project encourages people to write letters to loved ones, delivering four million postcards in 2023 to regional households.
A uniquely designed, free Connection Postcard has two parts. The postcard’s top half offers tips for mental wellness, leaving the bottom half blank for a personal message., ready for a message to be written and posted out.
Lockington-born and raised Mr McEwan will be guiding guests on the art of letter-writing. He worked for decades as a journalist, television presenter and radio host.
He'll share his background in journalism and mental health advocacy with participants, so they can spread cheer and connect through words.
The workshop is open to everyone, with free food and drinks provided.
