The local resident held one of the two division one winning entries in TattsLotto, draw 4407, drawn Saturday, October 14 and took home a total prize of $2,584,157.77.
The jubilant mum was in the middle of dropping her kids off at school when she noticed multiple missed calls from lottery officials attempting to reach her about her multi-million-dollar win.
“Oh my god! Thank you so much!” she cheered.
“I was getting the kids ready for school, and I checked my voicemail, which alerted me to check my TattsLotto ticket. I had to throw the kids in the car, and I said to them, ‘Get in the car, quick!’.
“All I could think about was the ticket while I was driving them to school because I hadn’t checked it yet. I thought to myself, ‘Holy s***! Holy s***! I think I’ve won something big!’.
“I ran back inside, checked the ticket, and then woke my husband up in a frenzy.
“I couldn’t believe it - $2.5 million!
“My husband rang my mum straight away and now she’s on the way with a bottle of champagne.
“This TattsLotto ticket has been ongoing since my kids were little. I think we drew the numbers on the ticket out of a hat.
“My mum used to babysit my kids when they were little, and I’ve always wanted to repay her. I’ve always said, ‘Mum, I’ve got a recurring TattsLotto ticket on and when we win, I’ll pay you back!’.
“Once I’ve completed some work there definitely will be celebrations!”
When asked what she planned to do moving forward as a multi-millionaire, she said she would pay off the mortgage and share it with her mum.
“We will pay off the mortgage and of course, share with my mother,” she said.
“Then we will go from there!”
Her winning marked 15-game entry was purchased online at thelott.com. Her winning numbers were 38, 7, 23, 10, 24 and 11, while the supplementary numbers were 4 and 14.
So far in 2023, there have been four division one winning entries in the Goulburn and Murray Valley region that have collectively taken home more than $6.89 million in prize money.
