Reflecting on the moments of 2023, I’ve had the privilege of capturing a diverse number of events through my lens as a news photographer.
From captivating portraits to adrenaline-pumping sports coverage, this year has been a journey of visual storytelling.

I expanded my repertoire by venturing into videography. Transitioning from stills to moving images allowed me to craft a richer narrative, particularly when capturing serious stories and the vibrant energy of local sports games.
My lens took me from photographing fashion on Mt Major to the adrenaline-fuelled scenes at Deakin Reserve during sports events. I also had the opportunity to document a concert where the Prime Minister made a notable appearance, one of many memorable moments that unfolded throughout the year.
Beyond merely documenting events, my commitment to storytelling through imagery aimed to encapsulate the spirit of the place in which we live, Yorta Yorta land.
Here are a few photographs that sum up 2023, each frame telling a unique story of the people and places that defined our year.
