Tom, James, Lucy, Edward, and Archie Wilkinson established the business with the purchase of five females out of imported embryos from Canada.
A spokesperson said in the past three years they had undergone expansion using embryo transfer and the best genetics available.
“On May 28 (we) had (our) first online production sale through Auctions Plus, in association with Elders Stud Stock,” the spokesperson said.
“The sale was a huge success with a 100 per cent clearance rate, selling all bulls offered to a top of $12,000 and averaging $8800.”
The top price bull, Mystic Rolex R4, was sold to Bill and Trish Carroll of Mudgegonga.
“They liked him for his excellent growth for age and his muscle pattern and unbelievable temperament,” the spokesperson said.
“Volume buyer John Harvey, of GH Bundella Pty Ltd, purchased eight yearling bulls to a top of $10,000 twice.
“He thought the bulls represented good value for money and were well-grown easy-doing bulls, and would fit well into his steer breeding operation which supplies steers to Whyalla Feedlot in Texas Queensland.
“(The) top price female was Mystic lady Heather S36 by Chisum 255 and out of DSK Lady Heather L70 was purchased by Damien Jennings for $9000.”
Tom Wilkinson said that he loved the breeding behind this heifer being out of their best cow and by a bull that had put muscle and softness into the breed.
“Embryo and genetic packages sold to a top of $2400 twice selling to Trent and Lacey Storm of Cohuna and also to Max Bailey of Harston, Victoria,” Mr Wilkinson said.
The Wilkinson family is extremely happy with their first sale and is already working on next year’s cattle.
