Driver told police ‘I can’t be bothered’

Prosecutor Senior Constable Kerrie Thomson told the court Baker was drug tested when pulled over by police at Pyke Rd, Tatura East on April 9.

On that occasion he tested positive for methamphetamines.

The court heard Baker was pulled over again on April 27 on New Dookie Rd, Shepparton for a routine check.

After a preliminary drug test showed there was a drug present, Baker refused to accompany police for a further test, telling them “I can’t be bothered”, Sen Constable Thomson said.

Baker was fined $1000 and was disqualified from driving for four years.
