A teenager is in hospital after being assaulted and robbed on Wyndham St on Sunday, September 25.
Police said a group of five people — four men and a woman — stopped and confronted the teenager on his scooter near the Wyndham St rail crossing at about 8pm.
They allegedly demanded an iPhone and electric scooter from the teenager.
The group then stomped on and kicked the victim, who was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries, police said.
They also allegedly stole the teenager’s shoes.
Detective Senior Constable Nathan Berryman said police were asking anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
“If anyone knows anything or saw a group of five people walking along the eastern side of Wyndham St on Sunday night, please get in touch,” he said.
The teenager was discharged from hospital in Shepparton on Monday, September 26.
He encouraged people to call Shepparton police on 5820 5777 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
