Kyle James Webb, 23, of Ardmona, pleaded guilty in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court to two counts of failing to comply with registered sex offender reporting obligations.
Prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Anna Hanlon said Webb breached his sex offender reporting obligations when he didn’t tell police he changed his TikTok username, or notify them of his new employment status and address.
Webb didn’t notify police within the required time frame that he changed the username of his TikTok account at his annual check-in interview on May 27.
He also didn’t tell police within the required time frame that he was unemployed.
A change of address also proved a problem for him.
Webb told police he moved to a Mooroopna caravan park; however, on an unannounced visit, no-one was living there.
Police were told he was kicked out of the Mooroopna caravan park on March 12 and had since moved, which he didn’t report, Leading Sen Constable Hanlon said.
Webb is required to comply with sex offender reporting obligations for eight years from May 30, 2023.
Webb’s defence counsel said the offending that placed him on the sex offender registry was on the lower end, and during sentencing of those matters a psychologist’s report said he would “likely have difficulty complying with reporting conditions”.
The psychologist told the court Webb suffered from fetal alcohol syndrome, and had limited community support.
Magistrate Simon Zebrowski fined Webb $200 for breaching his reporting conditions.
