Two people were lucky to not be injured after a truck and ute collided at Pine Lodge on Wednesday, December 7.
The crash happened at the intersection of Cosgrove-Lemnos Rd and Pine Lodge Rd about 10.45am.
Shepparton Highway Patrol Sergeant Janne Kennedy said the tipper truck, which was also towing a trailer, was travelling east on Cosgrove-Lemnos Rd, while the ute was travelling north on Pine Lodge Rd and intending to turn right on to Cosgrove-Lemnos Rd when the collision occurred.
The trailer on the tip truck rolled in the collision, spilling its load of dirt over the road.
Sgt Kennedy said the 70-year-old man driving the ute and the 66-year-old man driving the heavy rigid truck were fortunate not to receive serious injuries.
Neither driver — the only occupants of the vehicles — were injured.
The ute, however, was badly damaged.
Cosgrove-Lemnos Rd was closed for many hours while dirt from the truck was cleared off the road.
It was the second crash between a truck and smaller vehicle in the Goulburn Valley on Wednesday.
A 44-year-old Kialla woman died after her car and a truck collided at another rural intersection — this time in Tatura — only an hour later.
