And while a number of boats would not start or not finish throughout the weekend, ORSM's racing was as smooth as could be.
Although, by skier Blake Dingli's admission the team had a much more improved performance yesterday.
“We struggled a bit on Saturday in terms of our speed but I thought it was a nice, smooth run,” he said.
“Once we found our spot on Sunday I thought we were well in control of what we were trying to do.
“I thought our driver (Jason Dingli) did a terrific job in guiding us down the river.”
Dingli said being the first boat off was a massive benefit to his team, able to make the most of the conditions - going onto complete the course in 36:36.
“The water was like glass,” he said.
“We were actually shocked when the time come up on the screen, we thought we were a couple of minutes slower.
“We're definitely thrilled with how we performed. It's been a great weekend for us as a team.”
Despite a strong performance on Saturday morning, ORSM finished second in the unlimited inboard social category by just 0.3 seconds and produced the third fastest time of the session.
“It was a good way to start our weekend,” Dingli said.
“I think it certainly gave us something to build on and we took that momentum into our other runs.”
The team also competed in the super social and sportsman expert classes.
