Unfortunately, the joy was short lived in Echuca as incoming stage three restrictions mean all sport has been called off.
“It's disappointing we won't be able to continue with the season in Echuca,” EDNA president Betty McCoomb said.
“It was great to see so many smiling faces across our junior and senior grades.
“There was definitely a lot of energy to be burnt off and you could tell that in the seniors because some were definitely keen to get a win.”
McCoomb said she was looking forward to seeing the Moama program continue.
“We got off to a good start at the weekend,” she said.
“Our players are very fortunate they'll still be able to go ahead because of the rules in place in NSW.”
