The first two rounds of both the men’s and ladies’ club championship singles were played last weekend.
The men’s event is at the semifinals stage with Matt Liverton to play Matt Brighton and Jim Ferrier to meet Ivan Hicks.
In the ladies’ event one semi final will be Michelle Cunnington against Di Payne while in the other half of the draw Kristy Gillingham is set to meet Pat Schram with the winner to play Heather Trotter in the other semi.
The men’s B grade is at the final stage with Bob Pratt to play Trevor Rickard.
In ladies’ B grade, Robyn Tooley is into the final and is waiting to meet the winner of the semi final between Lorelle Opthoog and Linda Ormando.
In all other events please keep your eye on the noticeboard to keep them rolling along.
The Christmas party is scheduled for December 18 following the playing of both the singles championship finals.
There will be more details as they come to hand. The ladies Christmas fours tournament scheduled for Wednesday, December 9 is filling up fast. Entries to Rhonda Gallagher on 0448 400 051.

There is a limit to the number of teams due to the current COVID-19 restrictions.
In Monday’s Pastoral Hotel sponsored social bowls, there were 12 players competing with the winners being Gayle Kerr, Ray McDonnell and June Clifford with 2+52.
Thursday’s Jackpot Pairs attracted 32 players (16 teams).
Because of the heat two games of ten ends were played straight through with the winners being Jim Ferrier and Eddie Blampied (+26) from Norm Hodge and Bill Toll (+13).
The best one game went to Trevor Liddell and John Dinsdale on a countback.
The club’s five-a-side competition continues to be a close affair with one round to play.
Liddell’s Leopards lead the pack on 26 points (+46), from Daryl’s Dashers 24+50, Hicks Hurricanes 23+51, Roney’s Rockets 23+13, Shell’s Shooters 19pts (-19), Dinsdale’s Darters 17 (-56) and Trev’s Tornadoes 12 (-86).
In the final round, the fixture will be Rockets (23 points ) v Tornadoes (12), Shooters (19) v Dashers (24), Darters (17) v Hurricanes (23) and Leopards (26) have the bye so the competition is going right down to the wire.
Members are reminded that they must comply with current COVID-19 requirements and sign the register when they enter the club.
Midweek results
Echuca White defeated Kyvalley View by 49 shots (81 to 32) with three rinks up.
The best rink was Kerry’s Evans (s), Rhonda Gallagher, Jill Young and Sue Proctor with +22.
Echuca Blue went down to Rich River by 45 shots losing all three rinks.
Weekend Pennant
All four teams won for the first time this season.
Division one defeated Tongala at Tongala by six shots winning two of the three rinks with Denis Compton (s), Steve Cunnington,Gary Armstrong and John Dinsdale picking up nine shots over the final six ends to be the best winning rink at +6.
Division two won all three rinks after a tight battle all day to defeat Tongala by 10 shots.
Michelle Cunnington’s team of Ian Whiting, Bill Cook and Carlie Taylor was the best rink with +5.
Division three steamrolled Rochester Green by 38 shots winning all three rinks.
Tony Deenen (s), Rhonda Gallagher, Noel West and Robyn Tooley had a great day, winning 15 of the 21 ends to finish in front by 26 shots.
Division four defeated Lockington by 32 shots overall, winning all three rinks.
As much as I hate to say it but John Blair’s rink of Max Clifford, Callum O’Shea and Bluey Charman scooped the pool with +18, picking up nine shots over the last four ends.

Lockington
Last Tuesday, the women competed in pairs – two games of eight ends.
At the completion of the games the winning pair of Denise Gilmore and Phyllis MacFarlane (s) saluted with an extraordinary score card of 25 shots to three overall.

At the 60 and Over competition held at the Kyabram Bowling Club on Wednesday, all bowlers enjoyed wonderful hospitality and quick running greens.
Our rink of Owen McPhee, Geoff Shawcross, Andy Harris, Kalvin Stout (s) finished as runner-up and brought home a chook each.
Other local teams had some success and kept their heads up during the day.
On the local CVBD weekend pennant scene, both our division three and division four teams lowered their colours to the respective opposition in Elmore and City of Echuca.
Division three returned home from Elmore with just the one rink up in losing 51-63.
Rink details: Ray Hanson def. W Goodear 27-13; Ian Johnson l.t C Williams 12-22; Jim Harris l.t. K Brooks 12-28.
Division four failed to win a rink against the City of Echuca opponents, losing the match 42-74.

On Friday morning, the intraclub pennant resulted in some excellent bowling from all concerned.
Waratahs defeated top of the table Banksia while Grevillias were too strong for Bottle Brush.
In the club championship, Geoff Shawcross def. Ian Johnson, Brian Kinnane def. Steve Peter, Phillip Cunnington def. Neil Haines.
The game on Friday afternoon between Bill Musgrove and Andrew Harris produced some memorable passages of bowls in a 27-end contest.
Musgrove leapt out of the blocks to lead 6-nil on the first few ends.
Harris made up some leeway to level the scores at 10-all on 12 ends.
Both players traded ends with Harris picking up a four to lead 16-13, however Musgrove made up ground to again level the scores at 19-all after 23 ends.
In the blink of an eyelid, Harris won the following four ends to win the game 25-19 in a positive display from both bowlers.
The rest of the first round of matches are to be completed shortly before November 30.
The women have their club championship draw on display.
The Friday evening barbeque and practice session was well attended.
The missing link in the lucky members draw was Mary Thomas.

Rich River
Congratulations to all of our pennant teams for the excellent results the club achieved in round 4 played last weekend with four teams out of five registering wins.
Mid-week had a convincing win with division 1, 2 and 4 weekend getting over the line narrowly with hard fought out victories
Division 3 didn’t quite get there.
With the border restrictions now lifted between NSW and Victoria access to our club facilities will be much easier for our members and less inconvenient without permit requirements.
Thanks to our NSW Police Force and Australian Defence Force for their work during this time.
Tuesday social bowls are now commencing at 9.30am until further notice and Wednesday jackpot pairs will continue to be at 12.30pm, Friday social is on at 10am.
Both club and minor championship rounds are proceeding as planned, just be mindful that the final for both of these will be on Sunday, December 13.
For the convenience of our greenskeeper, all matches must be noted on the whiteboard with day, date and time indicated so appropriate rink designations can be set up.
If matches are cancelled then please arrange to have the details removed.
All club members who come to the greens to either work in the office, have a rollup, play in our social events or play rounds of club events must now sign a registration sheet upon entering the premises as required by NSW law as part of the outgoing COVID-19 regulations that are still in place.
The sheet will be on the table beside the drinking fountain.

60 and Over
The Campaspe Valley and District 60 and over Bowls group held their weekly bowls at Kyabram Bowls Club in ideal bowling conditions warm and little wind on Wednesday, November 18.
In all, 28 teams, that’s 112 players competed for a chook.
Four teams won three games then rolled off to within the yard stick.
A team from Elmore were the winners on the day with five bowls within the yard stick which was a great effort.
The team included Phil Mace, John Fanning, Allan Gerrish and David Andrews.
The team from Lockington consisting of Owen McPhee, Geoff Shawcross, Kelvin Stout and Andrew Harris came second, they had four bowls within the yard stick.
Members of both teams received a chook each.
Next Wednesday, November 25, 60 and over bowls is at Elmore Bowls Club with a 10am start.
