That’s because they’ll have the opportunity to earn $500 from every six hit in the game thanks to Toyota’s Bash for Cash.
South president Gary Smith said the club had earned the chance to participate thanks to its involvement in the Toyota Good for Cricket raffle.
“It is the icing on the cake for all the hard work we’ve put into the raffle,” Smith said.
“To this point we’ve raised over $13,000 through ticket sales which has us number one in the country. We couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve been able to achieve.
“Any funds we get from this initiative will go a long way to helping us out next season which is terrific.
“Hopefully we see the boys get onto a few and send them over the fence.
“We’d like to thank Toyota for the opportunity to take part.”
Smith said the news had been extremely well received by members of the club.
“I told everyone at our final training session before the Christmas break,” he said.
“There was a big cheer from the group which was really pleasing. We’re moving forward as a club and excited about the direction we’re heading in.
“It will be good for everyone to come together and watch the game on the Monday night.”
South will be hoping it can kickstart the celebrations early when play in the Goulburn Murray Cricket season returns on Saturday, January 9.
The Swans will face Moama in their first game back.
Fellow Goulburn Murray Cricket club Northern United received $5500 after their involvement with the Bash for Cash program in December.
