But the message from organisers to the public is clear - pre-book and pre-register.
In line with COVID-safe restrictions, the club will have a capped attendance, and have been reporting strong enquiries from the community for tickets.
Echuca Racing Club manager Garry Armstrong said booking numbers were strong for the event.
“At the moment we have about half of the maximum crowd booked,” he said.
“With another month to go before the event, those numbers will continue to go up, so it's going to be essential for people to get their booking in early.
“Obviously with our COVID-safe plans, there are certain things we need to have in place before the day, making sure we can accommodate for those who attend so we need to get that done quickly.”
Armstrong said patrons would be in for an excellent day of racing, with a number of big races currently on the card.
“The racing will be very strong,” he said.
“When you add the $100,000 Vobis Gold Eldorado, to the $100,000 MBC Echuca Cup, we have an outstanding program.
“The other six races are $35,000, just over $400,000 in stake money on the day. We are hoping to get a really strong field of entrants to match that level of prizemoney.”
While racing is still close to a month away, Armstrong said the club was working hard on preparing the track and venue.
“The club has undertaken a large track renovation which we began straight after New Year's Eve,” he said.
“We did this with an eye to having a pristine racing surface on cup day.
“The track has come back very well and the track reno (renovation) holds the track in good stead for the cup and beyond into the winter racing.”
