And no one made more of the opportunity then Echuca’s Delaney Laffy who took a stunning 5/9 off four overs against Kyabram Fire Brigade in the final game of the under 16s competition.
Unfortunately for Laffy, her efforts were not enough as Echuca went down by two wickets.
Kobyn James batted well for Echuca retiring with 30 runs.
In other matches, Moama was too good for local rivals Echuca South winning their respective game by six wickets.
Tanner Tomkins top scored for Moama with 26 runs.
Fletcher Good was the highest run scorer on the night however reaching 33 for South.
Bamawm Lockington United played out a thrilling contest against Rochester getting over the line by just six runs.
Jai Milligan and Charlie Mundie were both very important in setting up the win for BLU as they took three wickets apiece in Rochester’s run chase.
Jake Rorke top scored with 26.
Meanwhile, Tongala was able to get the better of Kyabram winning their clash by 12 runs.
Kade Northausen helped to set up the win with a 33-run stand as his teammate Lachlan Caldwell was devastating with the ball, snaring three scalps.
Meanwhile in the youth girls competition, Echuca Stars Green and White played out an exciting contest at Echuca College.
But in the end, it was Green who came out on top by 17 runs.
And Kyabram Fire Brigade Pink proved to be too good for Moama.
