In November, players chose to form a single golfing committee instead of two separate ones for men and women.
It followed the lead of the Rich River Bowls Club which adopted a similar approach several years ago.
There are nine people involved in total on the golf committee with David Pearson and Marg Davison named captain and vice-captain respectively.
“We thought the changes would make everything a lot easier,” Pearson said.
“The main reason behind the decision was to streamline the decision-making process.
“In the past, it could take a number of weeks for things around the club to be changed because there would have to be back and forth communication between committees.
“We always worked closely together but this is already making a massive difference.”
Despite the big structural change, Pearson said there wouldn’t be any radical decisions in 2021.
“We want to keep everything as normal as possible,” he said.
“Because of COVID-19 and the restrictions, the previous committees elected to make some changes already which we decided to keep.
“For example, we’ve combined our medley events because the numbers warranted it.
“And later in the year we’re going to have a family four-ball event.”
