Sweet swinging lefty George O’Sullivan took down the in-form Marcus Kenna in A grade with Stuart Milgate slipping past Daryl Brown and Greasi Wallace in B grade.
Not even Ian Hutton would have tipped the three-way countback in C grade with a relatively low score of 34 points and Colin Gneil winning by a nose.
A big field of 228 played, with 32 points on countback winning a voucher and Bob Holmes winning the super-pin.
Men
A grade: 1st: George O’Sullivan (38 points), 2nd: Marcus Kenna (38), 3rd: Glenn Rogers (37).
B grade: 1st: Stuart Milgate (39), 2nd: Daryl Brown (38), 3rd: Greasi Wallace (38).

Saturday, February 20
Monthly medal and the qualifier for the handicap matchplay event saw a big field of 200 on the west course.
Marc Cain had a nervous hour long wait and had the medal in his grasp until youngster Patrick Kennedy came in with a great score to take his first monthly medal.
Rob Vick had the best scratch score of the day and another youngster D’Arcy Whyte needs no pocket money this week after winning the super-pin.
I did not know that there was a howling northerly wind until I saw that Potsie Webber won the nearest the pin on eight.
Men
A grade: 1st: Simon Locke (68 nett), 2nd: Patrick Hannon (69), 3rd: Rob Vick (72 gross).
B grade: 1st: Marc Cain (65 nett), 2nd: Simon Cheong (66), 3rd: Stuart Milgate (82 gross).
C grade: 1st: Patrick Kennedy (62 nett), 2nd: Nick Murnane (69), 3rd: Potsie Webber (88 gross).
Club champion Maree Ciavarella cleaned up on Saturday winning the star award and nearest the pin on the fourth.
Pam Heywood was runner-up for the second Saturday in a row and Marcia Spiers won the super-pin.
Ladies
A grade: 1st: Maree Ciavarella (72 nett), 2nd: Pam Heywood (74).
Sunday, February 21
There was a field of 64 for the medley par event on Sunday with all players teeing up on the red markers - a different challenge for the men.
The winners all finished with plus scores and the rundown went to 19th place with minus one.
Sebastian Campbell (+3) won the event on a countback from Kahl Oliver (second) and Guy Galvin (third).
Nine-hole par event
Results: 1st: Tracey Burton, 2nd: Melissa Freeman, 3rd: Valma O'Neill.
Monday, February 229-hole: On Monday, the nine-hole maximum score stroke event on the west course, with 40 entrants, was played for the monthly stellar award which was won by Liz Pollard with 31 nett, also winning B grade.
A grade: 1st: Dawn McCormack (26 handicap) 35 nett, 2nd: Susanne Riddington (21) 36, 3rd: Susan Hull (18) 37.
B grade: 1st: Liz Pollard (41) 31, 2nd: Margaret Arnold (39) 35 c/b, 3rd: Jill Flanagan (35) 35.
18-hole: Monday’s 18-hole medley was also a stroke maximum score round and prizes were pretty well spread between men and women.
Results: 1st: Alex Stevens (9) 68 nett, 2nd: Michael Lizza (3) 74 c/b, 3rd: Dianne Paterson (17) 74.
NTPs: Patrick Hannon and Jan Annakis on the 16th.
Tuesday, February 23
Friendships were tested in a stableford multiplier event with both players needing to score on a hole to get any points.
Ross North and Les Thomas blitzed the field with Wayne Campbell winning the super-pin.
A field of 188 played the east course with nett 56 points on a countback winning a voucher.
A grade: 1st: Ross North and Les Thomas (77 points), 2nd: Stuart Milgate and Gary Bennett (66), 3rd: Trevor Hay and Marcus Kenna (66).
Wednesday, February 24
Wednesday's field of 90 women played stableford on the west course.
The best score of the day was 37 points by Chris Fleming in A grade and the countdown went to 34.
Nearest the pins on the fourth were Susanne Riddington (A grade) and Heather Berryman (B grade).
Karen Mahady took out the second shot on the eighth and Gloria Martin was 81 points better off with the super-pin shot on the 16th.

A total of 20 players took to the course for an ambrose pairs event.

Women's pairs: 1st: Pam Kerr and Winnie Lavery (39), 2nd: Ellen Banko and Josie Kirkman (40.25).
Men's NTPs: 4th - Dean Moore; 6th - Graham Pawley.
Women's NTPs: 4th - Josie Kirkman; 6th - Helen Makin.
Straightest drive: Men - Neville Vickery; women - Pam Kerr.
